This season, Sun and Co. team has expanded by welcoming a new digital marketing member and host – Iva who joined the team through the program Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs.

Let’s find out more about Iva and how she got here in the first place…

Tell us a bit about you, Iva!

I come from Osijek, a small city in beautiful Croatia. I’ve been working remotely for the past 2 years and had the chance to discover all the advantages and beauties of remote work. Before starting my freelance journey, I was working as a part of the marketing team for a company in Slovenia, helping to build a brand of a boutique luxury resort. Since then, through all my projects, I’ve been constantly connected to the hospitality industry, and I love it. That’s also how I ended up here at Sun and Co., since it was a perfect merge of two segments I really like – hospitality and remote work.

What do you do at Sun and Co.?

I joined Sun and Co.’s digital marketing team where I manage social media and create content. I am also in charge of hosting, where together with the rest of the team, I am trying to make our colivers have a memorable stay and feel a true sense of community.

Outside of work, what do you love to do?

I enjoy hiking and spending time in the mountains and nature. There is something magical about it that brings me a lot of peace. I also love hanging out with my friends, meeting new, diverse people, traveling, and exploring new places.

If you had to describe coliving in one word, what would it be?

Inclusion.

What do you think makes Sun and Co. so special?

The ability to make an impact and transform people’s lives. Since I came here, I see it happening on a daily basis. By focusing on creating a true sense of community, Sun and Co. offers a space for people to be who they truly are, open up, share, help, and reach deeper for connections. It all comes from the ability to give without expecting anything in return, and that’s when all the magic happens – everyone keeps on giving more and more. I think the key to successfully creating this kind of community is having a team of people who share the same values.

What is one piece of advice you’d give to someone looking to become location independent?

Know that no matter where you are, you can always find a community of like-minded people and share your stories and adventures with them. Being location independent can feel lonely at times but it’s important to remember that there are people and places that can make you feel at home. That’s why I believe colivings focused on the community are amazing, as they can provide a great sense of belonging.

What is your favourite thing about Javea?

For me, Javea is a perfect-sized town that offers so much! In one day you can go from the beach to the mountain, experience the vibe of an old Spanish town, and enjoy delicious food and drinks. I love that there are three separate parts of the town with completely different vibes.

Biggest surprise since joining the Sun and Co.’s team?

The amount of support, understanding, and empathy the whole team provides for each other.
